Jose Mourinho says Chelsea’s incredible home record against Tottenham is not significant as the two teams prepare for tomorrow night’s clash.

The Blues have not lost to Spurs at Stamford Bridge since Gary Lineker nodded home a winner in 1990.

And the chances of Spurs changing that unwanted record look bleak as they take on Jose Mourinho’s top of the table side that have not lost in 20 games in all competitions this season.

But Mourinho is taking nothing for granted. “Big game, London derby, good team,” he told reporters. “One of the top teams in the league. It’s just a difficult team that we have to play against.

“I don’t think the record is important and I haven’t spoken to the players about it.”

When questioned about Frank Lampard, Mourinho refused to comment on whether he regretted letting the midfielder leave.

“When I speak about former players I speak about players who have retired not players who play against us,” he snapped.
