The amount of bonus payments due to Manchester United’s players have been revealed courtesy of a leak.

United star Memphis Depay is the latest player to fall foul of the Football Leaks website, with his employment contract now freely available for anyone to view.

Within the contract is details of the Red Devils’ bonus structure.

United players divide a kitty of £2.5m for winning the Premier League or £1.25m for finishing runners-up. It is far more lucrative to win the Champions League, which secures a bonus pot of £5.25m. They can secure a £2.75m bonus by reaching the final, £1.25m for reaching the semi-final and £500,000 for reaching the quarter-final.

There are smaller bonus payments for winning the Europa League, FA Cup or League Cup.

Of course, this season United’s only remaining chance of silverware is in the FA Cup. They would earn £1m if they can win the competition.

As with all the bonuses, that kitty would be divided up on a pro rata basis depending on how many games each squad member had played in.
