Where is FanDuel legal?

FanDuel Sportsbook is available in 26 US states as of May 2025, including large markets like New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, and Michigan.

Of these 26 states, 23 also offer full online and mobile betting.

However, Mississippi, Nevada, and Washington still only allow FanDuel to operate in-person sports betting at FanDuel retail sportsbook locations.

FanDuel also offers mobile sports betting in popular states such as Arizona, Illinois, Ohio, North Carolina, Virginia, and Massachusetts.

To bet with FanDuel Sportsbook, you will need to be physically located in a legal state.

Additionally, players will need to verify their location via geolocation in order to access the platform.

FanDuel is likely to add more states in the future as even more U.S. markets opt to legalize sports betting.

FanDuel retail-only sportsbook states

While most users access FanDuel through the mobile app, three states only allow retail betting at licensed sportsbooks.

In these states, you must visit a physical sportsbook location to place a bet, online betting is not available.

The following states offer FanDuel retail-only access:

  • Mississippi

  • Nevada

  • Washington

Each of these locations provides odds, bet types, and in-person service that mirrors the FanDuel app, but no online or mobile betting is allowed.

You must be physically present at the retail sportsbook to wager.

Where is FanDuel Casino legal?

FanDuel Casino is available in a handful of states that have legalized online casino gaming.

Users in these states can access slots, table games, live dealer options, and more directly through the FanDuel app or website.

As of May 2025, FanDuel Casino is legal in the following states:

  • New Jersey

  • Pennsylvania

  • Michigan

  • West Virginia

  • Connecticut

Casino availability is linked to your location, you must be in one of these states to play.

The casino is integrated into the main FanDuel Sportsbook app in each market.

Where is FanDuel DFS legal?

FanDuel’s Daily Fantasy Sports (DFS) platform is available in 44 US states, making it one of the most widely accessible fantasy options in the country.

DFS games let players create lineups, compete in contests, and win cash prizes based on real player performance.

FanDuel DFS is legal in every U.S. state except the following:

  • Hawaii

  • Idaho

  • Montana

  • Nevada

  • Washington

  • Arizona (restricted for some DFS contests)

All other states, including California, Texas, Florida, and Georgia, allow DFS play.

Users must be 18+ or 21+, depending on state laws.

FanDuel FaceOff and Picks

Beyond its sportsbook, DFS, and casino, FanDuel also has a games platform.

The company runs two growing game platforms: FaceOff and Picks.

Available as real-money offerings in many states where traditional betting is not allowed, limited, or yet to appear, players have more options to compete and win.

FanDuel FaceOff – Skill-Based Games in 32 States

FanDuel FaceOff hosts quick, skill-based head-to-head and tournament-style gameplay.

Featuring games based on skill, speed, and sports knowledge, all within the FanDuel app for a chance to win real cash.

From quick number games to popular puzzle or card games to a variety of short sports-based challenges, exclusively

FaceOff isn’t gambling, and that’s why it’s allowed in more states, including some where sportsbooks are illegal.

(You must be 18 or older.) No odds. No betting.

States where FanDuel FaceOff is legal (32): Alabama, Arkansas, California, Colorado, Delaware, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Indiana, Kansas, Kentucky, Maine, Massachusetts, Minnesota, Mississippi, Nebraska, New Hampshire, New Mexico, New York, North Carolina, North Dakota, Ohio, Oklahoma, Oregon, Rhode Island, Texas, Utah, Vermont, Virginia, Washington DC, Wisconsin, Wyoming.

FanDuel Picks – Simple Player Prediction Games in 5 States

FanDuel Picks is a peer-to-peer fantasy-style game launched in April 2025.

It’s aimed at projecting player performances rather than controlling entire fantasy lineups.

It's the lighter, faster version that's ideal for mobile players who want to enter quick-entry contests for cash prizes.

Think of it like a crossover between traditional DFS and player prop-style picks, but legal in select skill-based gaming states.

States where FanDuel Picks is legal (5): Alabama, Arkansas, Minnesota, Oregon, Wisconsin.

Picks remains in limited release, but is expected to expand if state laws permit.

FanDuel terms of use

To use any of the FanDuel services, whether that’s Sportsbook, Casino, DFS, or any other gaming apps, users must meet certain legal and regulatory requirements.

These rules change slightly depending on the state and the product, but there are some core policies that apply everywhere.

You must meet the legal gambling age requirement, pass the ID confirmation process in order for Caesars to verify your identity and grant the platform access to track your geolocation.

FanDuel implements stringent security measures, and accounts attempting to circumvent location-specific limitations or connect via VPNs may be banned or suspended without notice.

Always check your state’s regulations to ensure what is allowed before entering any contests or placing any bets.

Future FanDuel legal states

Based on our latest research into state sports betting sites, legislation, industry reports, and FanDuel’s past expansion patterns, a few states stand out as the most likely candidates for FanDuel’s next launch.

These markets have either recently passed sports betting laws or are moving toward regulation with clear public and legislative support.

Top prospective FanDuel states:

  • Florida: Florida’s sports betting status is tied up in legal battles involving the Seminole Tribe. If the situation clears up and mobile betting returns statewide, FanDuel is likely to be one of the first operators to enter.

  • Texas: While sports betting isn’t legal yet, Texas lawmakers have shown increased interest in regulated wagering. If legislation advances in 2025 or 2026, FanDuel will be ready to move in, especially with its brand recognition and resources.

  • California: Sports betting has been voted down in previous ballots, but efforts are already underway to try again. FanDuel backed the 2022 campaign and would likely re-enter the conversation if a compromise proposal gains traction.

  • Missouri: Missouri has shown strong momentum in the 2024 and 2025 legislative sessions. If a bill passes, FanDuel would likely launch alongside DraftKings and other major operators.

  • Georgia: Legislative interest has resurfaced, and several proposals have support from both sports teams and fans. FanDuel could be part of the first wave of operators if Georgia moves forward.
