NFL Parlay Bet Analysis

Now, lets look at why we've chosen these picks. Making sure you research your parlay bets and have sound reasoning for your choices is the best way to achieve success.

Moneyline On the 49ers

The 49ers are looking like the ones to beat, not just in their game against the Green Bay Packers this weekend, but in the competition for the title of Super Bowl Champions. While this bet doesn't offer the hugest odds, it's likely to get your parlay off to a positive start.

Bills to Score First Touchdown

The Buffalo Bills come up against the Kansas City Chiefs this weekend and this game isn't looking to be as cut and dry as the first leg of the parlay. They've already defeated Kansas City in the quest for the title, starting their six-game win streak back in December. They're also known for being a great offensive team, so a fast touchdown is to be expected.

The fact that the Bills have been plagued by injury is going to make this part of the parlay trickier to pull off, but with Josh Allen in fine form, we think they've got the first touchdown covered.

Mike Evans to Score Touchdown

With 13 touchdowns in 18 games so far this season, Mike Evans is a solid choice to score against the Lions this weekend. In fact, he's ranked 7th overall in the NFL in terms of touchdowns scored. While Evans' prowess probably won't be enough to bag Tampa Bay the win, we think the odds on offer at BetMGM of him scoring a touchdown are very generous.

Lions to Win First Half

While Mike Evans has got the touchdown scoring credentials, almost everything else seems to favour the Lions. The team are in great form. They've won 3 out of the last 5 times that they came head to head with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, and put up 116 points against 106. We don't think it's going to be a total domination, but it's likely that the Lions will come away with a win - and almost certain they'll be up at half time.

What Is an NFL Parlay?

An NFL parlay is one bet that combines multiple bets. In the case of the NFL, these bets will all be on the outcome of NFL games. Usually, each of the individual bets will be a moneyline bet, an over/under bet, or a point spread. It is even possible to combine all three types of bet in a parlay.

The benefit of parlay betting is that the odds (and thus potential winnings) increase dramatically with each leg of the bet that you add. The downside is that each individual leg of the bet must win in order for the parlay to be paid out.

Calculating the odds of a parlay bet can be difficult and sometimes even the most experienced bettors find it easiest to use a calculator. In short, to calculate the odds of a parlay, you must multiply the odds of each part of the bet together.

Top NFL Parlay Strategies & Tips

Parlay bets are an attractive proposition thanks to the potential for big wins. However, they're not to be approached without a little caution. If you're looking to make successful parlay bets then take a look at the strategies below:

  • Diversify your bet – Instead of sticking to all underdogs, try to achieve some diversity in your parlay. Include a favorite, as well as an underdog, or consider choosing different bet types to spread your risk.

  • Shop around for odds – While odds tend to be similar from sportsbook to sportsbook, they often aren't exactly the same. In parlay betting these small differences can be exploited to your benefit. For example, if you can find three bets at odds of -105 instead of -120, your payout increase by $127.90 on a $100 stake.

  • Be wary of teasers - While getting to alter point spreads to suit you might sound like a fail safe idea, teaser bets can reduce the odds dramatically. Weigh up the potential harm to your profits with the additional safety before introducing a teaser bet to your parlay.

How To Place an NFL Parlay Bet

So, you've read up on the strategies, the benefits, and the drawbacks, and decided that parlay betting might be for you? Excellent. Placing an NFL parlay bet is super simple once you understand how they work.

  1. First, head to your sportsbook of choice and create an account (remembering to check to see who has the best odds).

  2. Next, find your way to the cashier and make a deposit - now is a good time to take advantage of any welcome promotions or bonuses.

  3. Once you've made your first deposit, head to the NFL section and find the games that you'd like to bet on.

  4. Select the bets that you'd like to make on the NFL games and add them to your betslip.

  6. Once you're happy with your selection, confirm your bet and await the results of the game.
