In the Italian city of Milan, having played out one of the best UEFA Champions League semi-final first legs for many years, Inter and Barcelona will conclude their business on Tuesday evening.

After that thrilling first-leg encounter, with the pair sharing six goals, drawing 3-3 in hugely entertaining fashion, there’s nothing between the two. One of these titans of European football will grace Munich’s Allianz Arena with their presence in around three weeks time, but which one will it be? Inter vs Barcelona value betting tips

This game takes place on 05/05/2025 at Stadio Giuseppe Meazza (San Siro). Kick off will be at 20:00 GMT.

I like the look of two player bets ahead of what promises to be a fabulous occasion at one of the very best venues in world football. Try these for size.

Hakan Calhanoglu to Be Carded

If you’re interested in betting on player cards and you want a slice of value ahead of what is likely to be a frantic affair, then Hakan Calhanoglu, at 4/1 (betway), is the man for you.

The Turkish midfielder has delivered some stylish and productive performances for Inter in recent times, assisting against Bayern in the quarters, before providing an assist in the first leg of this tie, taking his UCL goal contribution tally to five for the campaign.

What Calhanoglu also did last week was pick up a card, and not for the first time in a big game. In fact, the 31-year-old knows all about going into the book on the big occasion. He was recently booked in the Milan derby, for the second time this season, while he’s been cautioned against the likes of Fiorentina and Lazio in Serie A this term, and against Leverkusen in this competition.

A silky operator, for sure, but far from known for his ability to mix it physically, Calhanoglu struggled to keep tabs on some of Barca’s rather rapid runners last week, making multiple fouls, while he’s now made ten fouls in his last four appearances for Inter. Tuesday's game won't exactly be a stroll for the Turk, so odds of 4/1 look sizable, let’s be honest.

Frenkie de Jong to Be Carded

At a slightly bigger price, I cannot help but back Barca’s Frenkie de Jong to go into the book too. Not exactly known as a serious fouler, the smooth Dutch midfielder is no stranger to getting his name taken.

Even with injury disrupting his campaign at times, de Jong has picked up seven cards in all competitions, being booked an average of 0.29 times per game. This is also a man that often fails to win the ball when tackling, while he’s not averse to cheap, cynical fouls either, especially in big games.

We saw the Dutchman make a few “needless” fouls against Real Madrid in the Spanish Cup final recently, earning himself a card, while he was also booked away from home against Atletico Madrid in the semifinals of that competition.

During the quarter-finals, de Jong received a yellow at Dortmund, and with this clearly being a high-pressure game, it wouldn’t exactly be surprising to see him get in trouble on Tuesday, and at odds of 5/1, he’s worth betting on to do just that.

Recap - Inter vs Barcelona best value bets

The table below shows the odds available for our value betting tips at the time of writing, as well as what I consider to be fair odds for these selections. It’s important to note that to take value, you should be taking odds that are bigger than the fair odds. If bigger odds are not available, then there’s no value, which means no bet.
