Fabrice Muamba's first concern after regaining consciousness: did Bolton lose to Spurs?

Bolton midfielder Fabrice Muamba wanted to know if his side had lost to Spurs in the FA Cup after regaining consciousness following his cardiac arrest.

Family friend Aime Esalo said that Muamba responded to dad Marcel asking if he knew who he was by asking about the match.

He told The Sun: “Fabrice said ‘Yes’ and the next thing he asked was, ‘Did we lose?’

“He was told the match was called off while the two teams were drawing 1-1. Fabrice asked why they had stopped it and his father said, ‘Because of you’.”

The 23-year-old had no idea where he was when he came round from his sedation, but was desperate to know the outcome of the FA Cup tie.
