After the pretty unsightly mud-slinging between Joey Barton and Dietmar Hamann, you would be forgiven for thinking that footballers on Twitter serve up nothing but negativity and hammed-up controversy.
Well, here we have the perfect antidote to that increasingly prevalent disease. Step forward (if you still can!)… Twitter debutant Jimmy Bullard.
The former Wigan and Fulham midfielder is sadly retired but left us plenty of brilliant memories – including that celebration at the Etihad, some massively underrated attacking play and this sensational tweet from earlier in the week.
Responding to a fan asking him what his favourite dressing room prank was, Jimmy chirped: “I rested my nuts on papa diops forehead once while he was having a rub, that takes great courage.”
Indeed it does, especially when you consider that his former Fulham teammate is a mountainous 6ft 5inches tall and built like a tank. Oh to be a fly on that wall. As mentioned, Jimmy is new to Twitter, but stacked up 45,000 followers in the last two weeks and is well worth a follow – certainly on this evidence anyway!
