Alex Oxlade Chamberlain, Kieran Gibbs and Carl Jenkinson have got potential careers as pilots when they hang up their boots.

The Arsenal trio are more accustomed to being on the wing than in the cockpit, but they practiced flying the Airbus A380 in a flight simulator session.

The players took it in turns to bring the plane into land. The Ox and Gibbs both delivered smooth performances, but Jenkinson burst two of the fake aircraft’s tyres during his high speed touchdown.

Emirates’ chief instructor Warren Coles told them: “You all did really well – a little bit of confusion between the controls initially, but you got it at the end.

“You might have blown the tyres slightly but overall I was pretty impressed for a first go.”
