After going behind twice at Fulham, Liverpool appeared destined to drop points this evening.
But having twice equalised, this stoppage time penalty from captain Steven Gerrard earned a 2-3 victory for the Reds.
It was heartbreak for the Cottagers, who must have thought they would be coming away from the game with at least a point.
Sascha Riether’s foul on Daniel Sturridge gave Liverpool a chance to snatch all three points, and Gerrard made no mistake from the spot.
