Tottenham outcast Lewis Holtby admits he could be forced to leave the club before the close of the transfer window after being overlooked by new boss Mauricio Pochettino.
The former Schalke star has been linked with a return to the Bundesliga with Hamburg with his first-team prospects not looking good.
Holtby has struggled to hold down a regular place in the team since joining the club, with a lack of appearances resulting in him being shipped out on loan to relegated Fulham.
And the midfielder seems resigned to the fact he will once again have to move.
“We’re just going to have to see what happens in the next few days,” he told t-online.de. “I’m a young player and I want to be playing all the time. That’s very important for me, for my development and for my career.
“Preferably, I would stay here with Tottenham of course and that’s why I really hope that I get a chance.”
