A new rap song tells Yaya Toure to “go hang himself” over his performances for the Ivory Coast national team.

Ivorian rapper DJ Arafat’s track Elephants We Are Tired Of You declares Chelsea striker Didier Drogba, not Toure, as the team’s true captain.

The lyrics translate as:

Yaya Toure, you wanted the armband and today you have the armband, but you’re just giving [the performance of someone] in a brewery.

Bring Drogba! Drogba [is our] champion! Drogba is the number one. You’re jealous, just go hang yourself.

As its title suggests, the song is a pretty damning assessment of Ivory Coast’s performance at the World Cup.

Midfielder Toure, already facing criticism over his recent performances for Manchester City, can feel a little hard done by given the personal problems he was experiencing during the World Cup.
