A Reds supporter in Austria, who posts on Twitter as @pkirchb, immediately set to work on making sure his shirt wouldn’t go to waste when Sterling leaves.

He has now adapted the lettering so that it reads: “INGS.”

Liverpool are expected to complete the signing of Burnley striker Danny Ings when his contract expires this summer.
