Uefa has announced its official team of the Europa League group stages.

One Liverpool player and one Tottenham Hotspur player are named in the team – but in both cases it is perhaps not the player that immediately springs to mind for supporters of the two Premier League teams.

For the Reds, right-back Nathaniel Clyne gets the nod in a slightly awkward looking back-three system.

And from Spurs, it is winger Erik Lamela who is included. His hat-trick against Monaco in the final group game, which was presumably fresh in the minds of the voting panel, took him to five goals in five appearances after his earlier strikes against Qarabag and away at Monaco.

His hat-trick exploits set him apart from team-mates Harry Kane and Heung-min Son, who each finished the group stage with two goals.

Here is the full list of players selected by Uefa as it team of the Europa League group stage:

GK: Ralf Fährmann (Schalke)
DF: Nathaniel Clyne (Liverpool)
DF: Andreas Granqvist (Krasnodar)
DF: Gökhan Gönül (Fenerbahce)
MF: Dries Mertens (Napoli)
MF: Rafa Silva (Braga)
MF: Steffen Hofmann (Rapid Wien)
MF: Erik Lamela (Tottenham)
FW: Raúl Bobadilla (Augsburg)
FW: Aritz Aduriz (Athletic Bilbao)
FW: Jose Callejon (Napoli)
