The reporter who broke the story of a big-money bid to take Manchester United captain Wayne Rooney to China this summer has been discussing the story in more detail.
Journalist Samuel Lockhurst, who claimed that United are giving serious consideration to the deal and will consider selling Rooney if they can line up a marquee signing as a replacement, spoke to the BBC about his story.
He claimed United “would like” to accept the bid from a Chinese Super League side.
Lockhurst said it had not yet become clear which Chinese club had made the bid, but said it was an incredible offer.=
