Video: Liverpool legend Steven Gerrard scores his first MLS goal of the season

Former Liverpool skipper Steven Gerrard opened his Major League Soccer account for the season last night.

The ex-England captain scored the fifth goal in LA Galaxy’s 5-2 win over Real Salt Lake.

He waltzed through the defence and applied a cool finish to score in injury time and make amends for having missed a penalty earlier in the game. Gerrard could have given his side the lead from the spot in the sixth minute, but had his effort saved.

He was playing in his fifth game of his second season in MLS.
