Ajax starlet Anwar El Ghazi is a transfer target for Liverpool, according to Italian newspaper Il Tempo.
The Reds are reportedly planning a move to land the 21-year-old winger before the transfer window closes at the end of the month. They face competition from Italian sides Lazio and AC Milan.
Ajax are said to have slapped an asking price of €18m on the Netherlands international, who scored 11 goals in 27 league games last season.
Lazio have scouted El Ghazi and are preparing a bid of €13m or the offer of a season-long loan with an option to buy for the 6ft 2in youngster, but Ajax’s valuation could prove to be a stumbling block.
And it is Liverpool who are said to be especially keen to land El Ghazi. If the Reds beat Lazio to his signing, the Serie A outfit could instead turn their attention to out-of-favour Reds winger Lazar Markovic.
