Tottenham Hotspur head coach Mauricio Pochettino has given a team news update ahead of tomorrow’s Premier League encounter with Middlesbrough.

The Argentine coach confirmed that striker Harry Kane is ruled out of the match, as expected. The England international suffered ankle ligament damage against Sunderland last weekend and is expected to be sidelined for several weeks.

Kane will now undergo another scan on his ankle to determine precisely for how long he will be out of action.

Pochettino also confirmed that left-back Danny Rose and midfielders Eric Dier and Mousa Dembele are all doubts for the game. The trio face late checks to see whether they will be fit enough to be involved at the Riverside Stadium.

Spurs’ medical team will assess Rose, Dier and Dembele in their final training session before tomorrow’s game to determine if they can play against Boro.

Rose has been sidelined with a hamstring injury since the international break at the start of the month, while Dier and Dembele both picked up hamstring injuries against Sunderland last weekend.
