The NFL is evolving into a passing league, with running backs delegated to a secondary role while quarterbacks are at the forefront of offensive planning. In the past seasons, a 5,000-yard passing season was an impressive achievement, but in the previous decade, 13 quarterbacks passed the 5K mark.

Here are the quarterbacks with the highest regular season passing yards odds for the new NFL campaign - all potentials for NFL betting in the upcoming season.

Patrick Mahomes Ready for New Records (+550)

The best quarterback in the league already broke the 5,000 yards threshold in two previous seasons. Patrick Mahomes recorded 5097 yards in 2018 and 5250 passing yards in 2022, making him one of only a few QBs that have multiple 5,000-yard seasons.

“I mean, obviously, it’s really cool if you look at the names that are on that list. You’re talking about the all-time greats, so just to be a part of the list that has those names on there, it’s a special accomplishment," said Patrick after the 2022/23 season.

Last year, the Kansas Chiefs' star player did not have receiver Tyreek Hill as a weapon downfield but still managed to have a career-high passing stat. Known for his ability to extend a play, Mahomes has a gift for finding open players and threading the ball through the tightest opening in opposing defenses.

Sportsbooks consider Patrick the favorite for the most passing yards in 2023, with player prop bets having him at +550 odds.

Joe Burrow is Cool Under Pressure (+600)

The Cincinnati Bengals captain has still not broken the 5K mark in his three seasons in the NFL. Joe Burrow is considered one of the most talented quarterbacks. He was the 1st overall pick in the 2020 draft and led his team to a Super Bowl appearance in the 2021 season. This was when Joe recorded 4611 passing yards, the most in his three years in the league.

Burrow receives +600 odds and is a strong favorite for having the most passing yards next season. The ability to stay composed in the pocket when under pressure, process the game, and his accuracy make him a formidable opponent.

Lamar Jackson Makes Bold Promises (+4000)

This offseason, Baltimore Ravens star player Lamar Jackson was the topic of discussions in the media after Lamar expressed a desire to secure a fully guaranteed contract, something no team was eager to give.

At the end of the long negotiations, Jackson signed a new five-year $260 million deal with the Ravens. To celebrate the new chapter in his career, Jackson made several bold statements and was not shy about his aims in the upcoming 2023/24 season.

"I want to throw for like 6,000 yards with the weapons we have. I just want to do that because no one's ever done that before. Just can't wait to get rolling.", said Jackson after signing his new five-year $260 million deal.

Sportsbooks are not as confident Jackson can live up to the promise and give him a +4000 odds for the most passing yards. For a player with a career-high of 3127 passing yards, the odds are realistic, but Lamar is always ready to dispute doubters.
