Every veteran player and coach will tell you winning is not easy in the NFL, with a perfect season being a historic endeavor. That's why bookmakers are more realistic and tend to have some of their best bets football geared towards winning streaks, to be more precise, which team will start 5-0.

The schedule for the NFL 2023/24 season is out. Projections based on 2022 results combined with the matchups in the first five weeks of the season allow for several favorites for a 5-0 season to emerge.

Let's see which team can go on a winning roll and find out the best NFL bets today.

Philadelphia Eagles Aim to Repeat (+450)

Last season, the Philadelphia Eagles experienced their first loss in their 9th game against the Washington Commanders. Philly made it to the big dance in Arizona but lost the Super Bowl to the Kansa City Chiefs.

The 2022 season's record of 14-3 was built on the talent of QB Jalen Hurts and a strong defense that recorded 70 sacks. Plus, the pass rushing game was reinforced with rookie DE Jalen Carter.

“I sense that he wants to be the best pro he can be. We will get him to what he’s supposed to play at, and I have no doubt in my mind he’ll do whatever he needs to do to be the player he needs to be.” said coach Nick Sirianni about Carter after the NFL Draft.

The easier schedule last year helped the team improve its winning record. Something that’s not available this season, considering the Eagles will face stronger opponents. Predictions have them at an 11-6 record for the 2022/23 season. As of now, sportsbooks give them +450 odds to achieve a 5-0 start.

Kansas City Chiefs are a Model of Consistency (+650)

The odds for the KC Chiefs to start the regular season 5-0 are +650. The only reason the current Super Bowl winners are not in first place on the odds depth chart is the higher quality of the AFC compared to the NFC, where the Eagles compete. The Chiefs are a very consistent team, with 5 consecutive AFC title games.

It's hard to imagine that streak will change as long as head coach Andy Reid is calling plays and quarterback Patrick Mahomes is distributing the ball. Last year Kansas had a 14-3 record in the regular season. Their 2023 season strength is projected at .512, and they play three of their biggest games at home.

Buffalo Bills are in the Mix (+650)

The Buffalo Bills emerged out of a long slump after drafting quarterback Josh Allen. The team is now a regular piece of the Super Bowl conversation. However, things might not be as easy, considering the Miami Dolphins are reinvigorated, and the New York Jets, another division rival, is also showing championship aspirations and is betting on QB Aaron Rodgers to propel the young roster to a title.

The Bills get +650 odds to start 5-0, and that prediction is in large part based on last year's 13-3 record; one game was not played after the Damar Hamlin incident.

After last year's tribulations and disappointments, QB Josh Allen is hungry for victories.

"I so badly want to bring a Super Bowl here to Buffalo. I just don't want anything to get in the way of allowing me to be the best quarterback that I can be for this team," said Allen during offseason organized team activities.
