Arsenal’s mission to return to the UEFA Champions League final for the first time since 2006 was slightly derailed last week as the Gunners lost the first leg of their semi-final against PSG, but they remain in hunt. On Wednesday evening, a goal down, the North Londoners travel to France, where they’ll look to turn things around at the Parisian venue of Parc des Princes.
Can Mikel Arteta’s men bounce back and make it to Munich? Or will the hosts simply have too much in the locker having gained what could be a key advantage a week ago? Read on for our PSG vs Arsenal bet builder tips.
PSG vs Arsenal bet builder tips
This match will be played on 07/05/2025 at Parc des Princes. Kick off will be at 20:00 GMT.
With a bet builder in mind, I like the look of four selections ahead of Wednesday’s UCL activities in Paris. Feast your eyes on this 10/1 (betway) shot:
Desire Doue 1+ Shots on Target
First-leg scorer Ousmane Dembele is a doubt for this game, so it’s likely that Desire Doue, who may have started anyway, will be tasked with doing the business in the forward line, and it’s not as if this youngster is unfamiliar with hurting top teams.
We saw the Frenchman score a beautiful goal from outside the box against Aston Villa, notching in the UEFA Champions League for the third time this season. Moreover, from a shooting point of view, the hungry 19-year-old has been busy.
In the UCL this term, Doue averages 3.74 shots per 90 minutes, registering an average of 1.95 shots on target per 90 too. He managed to work the keeper in North London a week ago, while he’s now registered five shots on target in his last three appearances on the continent, hitting the target at least once in five of his last six. I like that, I like it a lot.
Gabriel Martinell 1+ Shots on Target
I also want a visiting forward on my side here, and that visiting forward is Gabriel Martinelli, who despite not being the most prolific scorer, has delivered some dangerous UCL performances in recent times.
The Brazilian has scored nine goals in all competitions this season, bagging two in the UCL, with one of those two goals coming in that quarter-final game at the Bernabeu.
From a shooting point of view, in the Champions League, Martinelli has been Arsenal’s most prolific player, shooting an average of 1.97 times per 90 minutes, registering a pleasing 1.04 shots on target per 90.
He’s forced a save from the opposition keeper in each of his last three UCL games, including during the first leg, while he registered two shots on target away against Real Madrid in the last round, so as his team goes in search of goals in Paris, don’t be surprised to see the 23-year-old in the thick of the action.
Thomas Partey to Be Carded
Sticking with an Arsenal player here, I like hot-head Thomas Partey to go in the book. The Ghanaian midfielder has already picked up three cards in the Champions League this season, which is quite a lot given that he hasn’t always played. He’s averaging 0.33 cards per 90 minutes.
Partey has also been picking up cards with regularity in the biggest games, going into the book booth home and away against Real Madrid, he was booked away to Feyenoord during the Round of 16, plus against Chelsea in the league recently.
As a man known for getting cards when the pressure is on, which it very much is here, Partey, who has collected five cards in his last 11 starts, will do well to avoid getting his name taken at Parc des Princes on Wednesday.
PSG 5+ Shots on Target
Lastly, let’s round this off with a bet on the hosts to register five shots on target. We know that this PSG team likes to come on strong at home, and it’s quite unlikely that the hosts will sit back and try to grind this out.
At home to Aston Villa during the last round, Luis Enrique’s men registered no less than ten shots on target, while they also worked the keeper ten times at home to Liverpool during the Round of 16. Against Man City, during the League Phase, it was nine shots on target from Enrique’s well-oiled offensive machine.
Recent history bodes well for a team that will likely come on strong in front of an expectant home crowd.
Recap - PSG vs Arsenal bet builder tips
The following selections make up a Champions League bet builder for PSG vs Arsenal:
Desire Doue 1+ Shots on Target
Gabriel Martinell 1+ Shots on Target
Thomas Partey to Be Carded
PSG 5+ Shots on Target
In summary, the above makes up a bet builder paying 10/1 with betway.
